Jon McDonald


Jon McDonald, originally from Jackson, Ohio, attended Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio. He began his professional golf career at Brookside Golf & Country Club in Worthington, where he worked from 2000 to 2002. In 2002, he moved to Southwest Florida, where he gained extensive experience at premier clubs, including Bonita Bay Club in Bonita Springs (2002–2006) and West Bay Club in Estero (2006–2021).
During his 20 years in Florida, Jon also competed on various mini-tours, PGA Canada, and the Korn Ferry Tour, earning more than 20 professional wins across mini-tours and Southern Ohio PGA Section events. He married his wife, Scarlett, in 2012, and in 2022, the McDonalds returned to Ohio, settling in Troy with their three children—Harper, Jordan, and Madden.
Jon joined Sycamore Creek Country Club in 2023 and entered the PGA/PGM Associate Program. He has a deep passion for golf instruction and takes pride in helping players of all ages and skill levels reach their full potential. His teaching philosophy emphasizes keeping the game simple, enjoyable, and accessible while maximizing results for each individual.
